How to Use Your Smudge Stick
To begin your ritual, place the smudge stick in a heat-resistant incense holder, burner, or shell. Light the tip of the bundle with a naked flame. Once a flame is established, carefully blow it out and allow the smudge stick to gently smoulder, releasing its cleansing smoke.
As the smoke rises, you may use your hand or a feather to gently direct it into all corners of your space. This is a perfect time to say prayers, chants, or intentions as you invite healing aromas and positive energy into your environment. Alternatively, you can simply allow the smoke to fill and purify the space.
Precautions Always use in a heat-resistant dish or holder. Keep out of reach of children and pets.
Open doors and windows while cleansing to allow the negative energy to escape and ensure good ventilation.
Never leave burning smudge sticks unattended.
